Minor Flood Warning For The Meander River

Re-issued to correct the peak forecast for Westwood Bridge.
MINOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT STRATHBRIDGE AND EXPECTED TO EXTEND TO WESTWOOD BRIDGE SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Minor flooding is occurring along the Meander River at Strathbridge during Sunday morning and expected to extend downstream to Westwood Bridge Sunday afternoon. River levels are currently peaking along the upper and middle Meander river at Meander and Deloraine.
In the 24 hours to 9am Sunday, widespread rainfall totals of 15-45 mm were recorded in the Meander River Catchment. Showers are forecast for the remainder of Sunday, with totals less than 5 mm expected.
The catchment is very wet from recent flooding and river levels are responding to rainfall.
Strong and dangerous flows are likely to be a hazard for the coming days.
Meander River above Deloraine:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Meander River above Deloraine.
The Meander River at Meander peaked at 1.75 metres around 03:00 am Sunday 24 October and is currently at 1.70 metres and falling.
The Meander River at Meander is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Sunday.
Meander River - Deloraine to Strathbridge:
Flooding is no longer expected along the Meander River - Deloraine to Strathbridge.
The Meander River at Deloraine Railway Bridge is currently at 1.56 metres (minor flood level is 2.0 m) and steady.
The Meander River at Deloraine Railway Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m) during Sunday.
Meander River below Strathbridge:
Minor flooding is occurring along the Meander River below Strathbridge.
The Meander River at Strathbridge is currently at 5.04 metres and rising, with minor flooding.
The Meander River at Strathbridge is expected to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 m) during Sunday. The river level may peak near 6.30 metres overnight Sunday into Monday.
The Meander River at Westwood Bridge is currently at 3.62 metres and rising.
The Meander River at Westwood Bridge is expected to exceed the minor flood level (4.00 m) Sunday afternoon. The river level may peak near 4.85 metres Monday afternoon.
Strong river rises are occurring along the Liffey River.
